Company celebrates the 35th anniversary of our founding.

2014

Polygon Pictures Holdings and King Record Co., Ltd. become the majority shareholders.

2013

Company celebrates the 30th anniversary of our founding.

Established a new joint venture studio, Silver Ant PPI Sdn. Bhd., in Malaysia.

2012

"Transformers Prime" is awarded for "Outstanding Special Class Animated Program" at the 39th annual Daytime Emmy Awards.

2011

Participated in our first international co-production, "Muybridge's Strings" directed by Koji Yamamura.

Formed a capital and business alliance with Amana Holdings Inc.

2010

Headquarters relocated to Minami Azabu, Minato-ku, Tokyo, to accommodate our company's growth.

Introduced full body motion capture system OptiTrack.

Ranked 26th and 460th in the Japan Technology Fast 50 and Asia Pacific Fast 500, respectively, which are sponsored by Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu LLC to recognize growing companies in global media, technology, and telecommunications.

Company celebrates 25th anniversary.

Shuzo John Shiota delivers a special speech at SIGGRAPH '08 entitled "25 Years of Polygon Pictures."

2006

Headquarters relocated to Minami Azabu, Minato-ku, Tokyo.

2004

Shuzo John Shiota serves as the first Japanese judge for SIGGRAPH (through 2005).

2003

Company celebrates 20th anniversary.

Shuzo John Shiota assumes position as CEO.

Participated in production of Walt Disney Pictures' "Valiant," a 3DCG film for worldwide release.

2002

Headquarters relocated to Shin Okubo, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo.

2001

Entered management contract with AniManagement (USA) and began full-scale expansion into the U.S. market.

2000

Began production on the fully CG-animated TV series "Mr. Digital Tokoro" (total 245 episodes), and established a pipeline based on the complete division of labor.

1999

Taisuke Sasanuma assumes position as CEO.

1998

Company celebrates 15th anniversary.

Headquarters relocated to Ariake, Koutou-ku, Tokyo.

1995

Polygon's original characters, the rockhopper penguins Rocky and Hopper, make their debut in a TV commercial; toys, clothing, and other merchandise featuring the characters are sold.

1993

Company celebrates 10th anniversary.

Michael the dinosaur appears in a TV commercial and becomes the first CG media personality with a television contract.

1989

PPI's work was presented for the first time at SIGGRAPH 89, the world's largest CG conference.

Developed MESOZOIC, a state-of-the-art CG software application that supports skeletons.

1987

Headquarters relocated to Higashi Shinagawa, Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo.
