New Rigging and Animation Framework
eST3 Officially Released!
Polygon Pictures (“PPI,” President and CEO: Shuzo Shiota, Head Office: Tokyo, Japan) is proud to announce the release of new framework* eST3 as of today, May 24, 2024.
eST3 is the latest version of the framework for rigging and animation that our studio has been using for 20 years of video production. This product will be provided free of charge under certain conditions, in cooperation with Born Digital (President: Kazuya Shin, Head Office: Tokyo, Japan).
By making the rigging and animation technology we have cultivated over many years available to Maya users, we hope to contribute to the further development of the CG and video industries.
* “Framework” in this case refers to a set of development tools and guidelines. It is designed to support the development process by efficiently creating applications through increased reusability of the underlying code.
About eST3
eST3 is a development tool for rigging and animation production. Through the use of node groups defined into unique “units”, it contains various features to improve efficiency of rigging work. In addition, along with features for animation efficiency, it also comes equipped with features to support pipeline implementation, such as libraries for integrated management of data, scripts, mo-cap files and other assets, making it a suitable tool for large-scale production workflows.
