“The Very Pulse of the Machine” from Love, Death + Robots Volume 3, with animation by Polygon Pictures, wins award for best storyboarding at the 50th Annual Annie Awards!

Polygon Pictures (“PPI,” President and CEO: Shuzo Shiota, Head Office: Tokyo, Japan) is proud to announce that Love, Death + Robots Volume 3’s “The Very Pulse of the Machine,” with animation produced by our studio, has won the award for best storyboarding, at the Annie Awards, considered the Oscars of the animation world.

"Love, Death + Robots" is an animated anthology series for adults distributed by Netflix. Volume 3, which began streaming in May 2022, contains nine shorts, including "The Very Pulse of the Machine," which was animated by Polygon Pictures.
At this year's 50th AnnualAnnie Awards, from "Love, Death + Robots" Volume 3, the Polygon Pictures animated “The Very Pulse of the Machine” was awarded the Annie for best storyboarding.

At the Annie Awards ceremony, held on Saturday, February 25th, director of “The Very Pulse of the Machine,” Emily Dean shared her joy and gratitude to everyone involved along with the following comment.

“I want to say thank you to Polygon Pictures for taking on this incredible project, Shuzo Shiota (PPI President and CEO), and Jack Liang (Producer). It was daunting to make this piece and it was no easy task.”

With previous wins in two categories at the 40th annual Annie Awards for “Tron: Uprising,” this marks the second time that works by Polygon Pictures have won at the Annie Awards.

About “Love, Death + Robots” Volume 3 - “The Very Pulse of the Machine”

"Love, Death + Robots" is an animated anthology series for adults distributed by Netflix, executive produced by Tim Miller and David Fincher and produced by Blur Studios. The "The Very Pulse of the Machine" segment in Season 3 of "Love, Death & Robots" is based on the Hugo Award-winning short story "The Very Pulse of the Machine" (1998) by science fiction author Michael Swanwick. In addition to creating the animation, Polygon Pictures also participated in the art direction and character design.
