Editor at Polygon Pictures nominated for Love, Death + Robots Volume3 “The Very Pulse of the Machine” at the 2023 BFE Cut Above Awards!

Polygon Pictures (“PPI,” President and CEO: Shuzo Shiota, Head Office: Tokyo, Japan) is proud to announce that Polygon Pictures editor Hiroaki Sasa who handled animation on Love, Death + Robots Volume 3’s “The Very Pulse of the Machine,” has been nominated for the 2023 BFE Cut Above Awards.

"Love, Death + Robots" is an animated anthology series for adults distributed by Netflix. Volume 3, which began streaming in May 2022, contains nine shorts, including "The Very Pulse of the Machine," which was animated by Polygon Pictures.
“The Very Pulse of the Machine” won the award for Best Storyboarding - TV/Media at this year’s 2023 Annual Annie Awards.

About “Love, Death + Robots” Volume 3 - “The Very Pulse of the Machine”

"Love, Death + Robots" is an animated anthology series for adults distributed by Netflix, executive produced by Tim Miller and David Fincher and produced by Blur Studios. The "The Very Pulse of the Machine" segment in Season 3 of "Love, Death & Robots" is based on the Hugo Award-winning short story "The Very Pulse of the Machine" (1998) by science fiction author Michael Swanwick. In addition to creating the animation, Polygon Pictures also participated in the art direction and character design.

About the BFE Cut Above Awards

Awards given out by the prestigious not-for-profit organisation of professional movie and television editors, British Film Editors (BFE), which was formed in 1966 by a group of English motion picture editors. With only movie and TV editing and post-production eligible for nomination it is the only major award in England that honors excellency in editing.
