2023 Annecy Nominee MECH CADETS
to Start Streaming on Netflix August 10th! English and Japanese Voice Casts Announced!

Polygon Pictures (“PPI,” President and CEO: Shuzo Shiota, Head Office: Tokyo, Japan) is proud to announce that Mech Cadets, produced by BOOM! Studios (Founder: Ross Richie, Head Office: Los Angeles, California) and created by our studio, will begin streaming on Netflix from August 10, 2023.

Mech Cadets is based on the sci-fi comic Mech Cadet Yu by Greg Pak and Takeshi Miyazawa, now adapted into a 10-episode animated series which follows Stanford Yu, a teenage Robo-pilot who, along with his classmates, must protect the Earth from hostile alien creatures.
It is produced by BOOM! Studios, publishers of Mech Cadet Yu, with animation created by Polygon Pictures. Developed and written by Aaron Lam (Producer: Ash Vs. Evil Dead, 2018), with Tohru Patrick Awa (Character Design: The Super Mario Bros. Movie, 2023) serving as Supervising Director. The series has been praised for its high-quality visuals and inclusive character lineup, and was nominated in the TV category at this year’s Annecy International Animation Film Festival.

Along with the announcement of the streaming date, the original English as well as Japanese voice casts have been officially revealed!
Protagonist Stanford Yu will be voiced by Brandon Soo Hoo (From Dusk till Dawn: The Series, 2014; Teen Titans: The Judas Contract, 2017), and in Japanese by Shogo Batori (Cardfight!! Vanguard G series, 2014-2018).
In addition, ambitious cadet Olivia Park will be voiced by Victoria Grace (Pacific Rim: The Black, 2021) and in Japanese by Arisa Sakuraba (Kemono Michi: Rise Up!, 2019), and Chief Max, a former Robo-pilot and mentor to the trainees by Debra Wilson (MADtv, regular 1995-2003) and in Japanese by voice talent for numerous overseas film and television dubs, Yuri Sorimachi (The Matrix Resurrections, 2021). Olivia’s father Gen. Aiden Park is voiced by Daniel Dae Kim (Raya and the Last Dragon, 2021) and in Japanese by Akimitsu Takase (Fafner in the Azure: Exodus, 2015The Mandalorian), and Stanford’s mother Dolly by Ming-Na Wen (The Mandalorian, 2019) and in Japanese by Yukari Oribe (Squid Girl, 2010-2011), among many others in this charismatic and talented cast.
