Polygon Pictures Wins FileMaker Excellence Award
for Development of the Year!

Polygon Pictures ("PPI," President and CEO: Shuzo Shiota, Head Office: Tokyo, Japan) is proud to announce that our in-house pipeline database system Pizmo has been awarded Development of the Year, the highest honor in the technical category at the FileMaker Excellence Award 2014.

Our company was selected for this honor from among FileMaker Technical Network applicants across the world. The FileMaker Technical Network is a developer community run by FileMaker Inc., and the award recognizes developers from this community who have demonstrated the ability to tackle complex and technically-challenging projects, and achieve results.

As a digital animation studio, we have created a database system based on the FileMaker Platform at the center of a daily-evolving production pipeline, and used this to connect data seamlessly to our wide range of CG tools. Furthermore, using FileMaker as a development environment has allowed us to develop and implement this system within a short time. We created this solution due to the need to manage multiple digital animation projects and the enormous amounts of data involved with them in a large-scale production environment - over 500 staff including our subsidiaries - and this has led to a significant increase in productivity.

This award is also recognition of our continuous iteration of infrastructure improvements and systematic yet efficient management systems to support our production of digital animation.

In keeping with our stated mission to "do what no other has done, in unparalleled quality, for all the world to see and enjoy,” PPI will continue striving to launch Japan's renowned animation business on a global scale.

About the pipeline database system "Pizmo"

Pizmo is Polygon Pictures' proprietary production management database system for digital animation production which consolidates management of asset/shot data and approval status, as well as linking with CG production tools and data sharing systems.
