STAR WARS: VISIONS - Volume 3
Polygon Pictures’ THE BIRD OF PARADISE nominated for the 53rd Annie Awards!

Polygon Pictures (“PPI,” President and CEO: Shuzo Shiota, Head Office: Tokyo, Japan) is proud to announce that The Bird of Paradise, an episode from Star Wars: Visions – Volume 3, for which our studio was in charge of animation production, has been nominated for the Annie Awards, often referred to as the Academy Awards of animation.

Star Wars: Visions is a major Lucasfilm project in which multiple animation studios create new Star Wars stories incorporating their unique perspectives and ideas. Following Volumes 1 & 2, which were acclaimed among Star Wars and anime fans worldwide, this third installment features short films produced by nine Japanese animation studios, including Polygon Pictures. Star Wars: Visions – Volume 3 is now streaming exclusively on Disney+.

This is now the 8th title produced by Polygon Pictures to be nominated for an Annie Award. Please see the table below for more information on Annie Award nominations and wins by PPI.

The 53rd Annie Awards ceremony to announce this year’s winners will begin Saturday, February 21, 2026 (Pacific Standard Time) at UCLA Royce Hall in Los Angeles.

Our studio will continue to uphold our mission to “do what no other has done, in unparalleled quality, for all the world to see and enjoy” and strive to expand Japan’s acclaimed animation business around the world.

Through a miraculous collaboration born from the mutual love between Star Wars and Japanese anime, a new chapter in entertainment history begins—
In Japan, where the roots of Star Wars lie, having been born from George Lucas’ inspiration from the works of Akira Kurosawa and Japanese culture, nine new works have been created to carry on the Star Wars legacy, incorporating the acclaimed focus on character and storytelling for which Japanese animation is known.
