Polygon Pictures Partners with Corus Entertainment Subsidiary Nelvana
To Develop Global IPs Originating from Japan
Polygon Pictures (“PPI” President and CEO: Shuzo Shiota, Head Office: Tokyo, Japan) is proud to announce a new development partnership with Nelvana (President: Pam Westman, Head Office: Toronto, Canada), a subsidiary of Corus Entertainment (CEO: Doug Murphy, Head Office: Toronto, Canada).
Corus is a leading Canadian developer and provider of high-quality content across numerous platforms including specialty channels, radio stations, and streaming services, while its subsidiary Nelvana produces and globally markets animated and live-action content for children. Nelvana content is broadcast in over 180 countries around the globe, bringing Japanese animated properties such as Bakugan™, Beyblade, and Cardcaptor Sakura to audiences around the world.
Polygon Pictures, which holds licenses for a number of animated properties, has been in long-term discussions with Corus to create a new global hit based on Japanese content, which has now led to the finalization of a joint development agreement with Nelvana, a company with a successful history in worldwide development of Japanese animation. With the cooperation of Corus, Polygon Pictures and Nelvana will work together to develop leading Japanese animated content for children around the world, in addition to jointly developing IP in various fields such as lifestyle, publishing, and design.
